The Boy Kings

Fehér's reign is not peaceful.    Although he enjoys the support of the Church and the Magicians School the old nobility are restive and the Senators resent their loss of power.  Iswed and his successors  establish a realm in exile in the Ancient City.  They continue to style themselves "Chancellor".   There is continuous fighting on the borders.

In the Waste, which has like the Ancient City slipped beyond the control of the Commonwealth, the famous Festival District falls into a squalid ruin.

Honest men fear to tread here...

Zolta and his heirs remain the most powerful of the new men, with vast holdings in the buried Giant and the Mines.   For the time being they remain loyal supporters of the Chancellor.

After reigning for seven years Fehér falls in battle, leaving a  five year old son as his heir.
As is the custom in Elurra, succession is through the eldest male heir.  Bishop Urpa of Avarga becomes regent.  He skillfully guides the Commonwealth until young Bàn son of Fehér reaches his majority, although some complain that he unduly favors the nobility of the Buried Giant.

Chancellor Bàn follows in his fathers footsteps, personally leading the armies of the Commonwealth against their foes.  He meets a similar fate, falling in battle in the Waste in 641 AR after an effective reign of 9 years. Like his father before him, he leaves a child heir; Beo son of Bàn son of Fehér.

Again a regent is appointed from among the Clergy.  Archbishop Garra of the Mines takes the helm of the Commonwealth.
She is rumored to have ties to the Dark Priory.

At the prospect of another long regency, anxiety and discontent run through the Commonwealth.  Enemies eye its borders greedily.  The secret societies, quiet since the fall of Iswed, begin to stir again and tension rises between the College of Magic and the Church. Men face the future with fear.
