Isfar's new realm does not long endure. Greedy for more power he delves too far into the forbidden arts. Disregarding the warnings of the Wizard's School he attempts to invoke a primordial spirit of terrifying power. The spell goes horribly awry. Isfar meets a ghastly fate; he is eaten alive on the streets of the Ancient City by an invisible demon . His kingdom collapses into anarchy.
Gorria the Wanderer vanishes into the Hinterland. His fate is unknown.
Lady Nila assumes the Chancellorship on the death of Cheren. She retains the title of Queen of the Bandits. A Festival Site is built in the Wastes near where she dwelt during the conflict. Many journey there, seeking judgement of their disputes. It becomes a center of trade. The Book Burners, disgusted, withdraw from the region.
The Prelates eventually meet. At the First General Synod of the Commonwealth the competing dogmas of Isfar, Cheren and Nila are weighed. Unsurprisingly, the Bishops find in favor of Nila, and make slight changes to the doctrines of the Church. Most of the Bishops are confirmed in their offices. Recalcitrant followers of heretical doctrines are dealt with by ecclesiastical courts.
Cheren's daughter Nera, third of that name, accedes to her father's estates. She remains a power in the Commonwealth. Nominally she is an ally and supporter of the Chancellor. Her actual ambitions she reveals to none.
In due course, Nila is succeeded by her daughter Sina, who continues to rule the Commonwealth under the Oath of Protection. She declines to assume the Bandit Crown, holding such a title to be beneath her dignity. Unfortunately, the forces of Discord and Arcane knowledge that Nila wielded in the struggle against Isfar's horde have grown in the Land, and how long her dynasty will endure remains to be seen .
